re: Driveshaft fit question
Why do I keep getting this image of Ryan in one room of the house posting to his Dad in the other room?

I am at work, trying to make money to support Ryan's bump habit. Plus the boss is out of town.

One bolt on each side, how does that equal 4 bolts? NOTE TO ALL FORDIFICATION PEOPLE---- Ryan actually is acing the hardest math classes his school has to offer. How he came up with 1+1=4 is beyond my comprehension.1971ford wrote: i know i checked them out. one bolt, each side. give me a day though. thats like 4 bolts i have to remove. i mean jeeze all ive ever done is completely dismantle a truck (still doesnt mean i can put it back together )

re: Driveshaft fit question
hmmm possiblly 1 + 1 + (1+1)=4 or in other words 2 for the cross member on frame and two for the transmission.
But of course none of that is valid if the transmission isnt in there and if im not thinking right and there is only one bolt to the tramsission

I don't really care about brands Chevy Ford Dodge ...as long as it doesn't sound like two old dudes farting in a coffee can.

I was just figuring 2 bolts per 2 different trucks = 4... but that was just assuming that he had to take it out of both trucks.1971ford'sdad wrote:One bolt on each side, how does that equal 4 bolts? I'd say that's why you usally see short bed trucks used...averagef250 wrote:Ideally, keep it under 5 feet, but drivelines get into the 5-6 foot range even in production vehicles.
Length doesn't automatically dictate a two piece shaft, but racing (atleast high speed stuff) pretty much makes you take a firmer stance on driveline rules.
From a true desert race perspective neither a 6 foot driveline nor a two piece driveline would be acceptable. The ideal setup would be 60" or less single so that means either a shorter wheelbase or moving the engine back.

dad say this slow, 2 bolts on one truck, + 2 bolts on another truck = 4.
