Tranny Differences.

I finally found a tranny to replace my FMX but my dad says it'll probably be different length and i'll have drive shaft problems. I got a tranny out of an 82 Ford F150 will it be longer than my FMX and will i have drive shaft problems??

Thats where I would start.

If you got another automatic then it should fit right in there.

Or you could do like most of us here and just put it in and see what happens.

and even if it is longer, you can make the drive shaft shorter, thats an easy fix

Those are exactly what i thought but my dad dosen't want to deal with getting drive shafts cut because my brother had all kinds of drive shaft problem with his dodge, but i don't really care anymore because it's my truck and i'm doing this whole cab swap project by myself so i'm gonna GO FOR IT!!!

I once had a 65 stang, did a engine tranny swap from a maverick w/auto,(the stang was stick), cut the drive shaft myself, never had any issues with it
