vibration in the gas pedal

Post by Waller460 »

everytime i take off from a dead stop, whether its just barely on the gas or standin on it, i get a nasty vibration that comes up through the gas pedal and i feel it in my feet. it also shakes the steering column. i already replaced the carrier bearing and u-joints, and it didnt get any better. any ideas on whats causing it??

its a 72 f250 w/ 460, C6 trans, and a dana 60 rear

More than likely left motor mount or trans mount. Or possibly exhaust hitting crossmember or frame.

Or your cab mounts are rusted out letting the cab rest on the frame.
Great ideas have always encounter violent opposition from mediocre minds.

the motor mounts are new, i replaced those with the motor. ill do the tranny mount as soon as i can

i never would have thought to check the cab mounts, but i sure will. it prolly couldnt hurt to replace all the body mounts anyways
