Will a 4 speed from a '67 LWB F100 with a V8 fit into my '67 SWB F100 with inline 6? Would it use my old bell housing flywheel and clutch and everything? Would I be able to install it myself or get my cousin to do it one afternoon for a case of beer?
I found one in a truck at Nick's auto salvage. How do you know if it's any good or what it is worth? Mine is a NP435 but this one is different. The shift pattern for reverse goes to the right and up toward the dash instead of down toward the seat. I could read the numbers on top of the transmission but forgot exactly what they read. It was something close to T93-14??
I suppose I should get a professional opinion on what's wrong with my transmission first and find out what it would cost to fix/rebuild?
If you were going to do a swap what other transmissions would you consider? Are they easy to find or expensive?

re: 4 speed questions
That other transmission sounds like an early T18. Good, strong trans...about as durable as the NP435. If it works, I wouldn't hesitate to run it.

only difference should be the drive line length. but your current driveline not sure on the clutch and belhousing though. but as long as the tail shaft is as long as your current trans it should bolt up to your driveline for sure.

I don't want to give em a heart-attack. That is what would happen if I answered the door in the buff. Heck it almost scares me to death when I step out of the shower and look in the mirror.~Mancar1~

Also, what V8 you talking about? Yes, the 240/300 shares the same bell housing pattern as the small block Ford (289, 302, 351w etc). But most definitely NOT FE series.
I think that the T-18 (most certainly is a t-18 if R is up and to the right) would bolt up to your current bell, as the Novak adaptor for them both is apparently the same. I don't know for certain though....
I'd be less optomistic that the drive shaft from your current NP 435 would go with the t-18.
Try an internet search "t-18 NP435 interchange"
The t-18 is not any better a tranny than the NP. Have you considered having the NP rebuilt?

65 f-100 SWB, 240 I6, T-18, now swapped to C4 with difficulty. Yeah, I know. Its a 67-72 site. But my frame and entire drive train are just like yours!!!!
