checking one more time. someone must have had this issue
used to clink hard when i put it in park but otherwise drive fine. and it would shift had when going gear to gear, but recently it reved when i put it into drive when it was cold. then it seemed to do fine as long as i didnt let it sit too long , then i had to rev it to move again. all other gears are woking fine. its a c-6 automatic, 69 ranger, shop said, might need a over haul. u how those guys are, no repairs, just overhaul... i got a quote for 1200 for a complete rebuilt with torque conveter.
THANKS

shop is right seals and orings are worn out. When it warmed it would go into gear, or rev it up to make more pressure to over come the leakage.

We are assuming you checked the transmission fluid level?

My transmission started slipping real bad one time and thought it was gonna blow up before I got home so out of desperation I stopped and got some lucas transmission fix, and I was shocked the transmission shifted great. Worth a try if you weren't planning on a rebuild.

Sounds like the torque convertor to me...
And $1200.00 is way too much to rebuild a C-6, suggest getting a second quote for the rebuild.
Or pull it yourself to save some bucks.
