QUESTION from weenie of the year!!!
recently, it wont go into drive, only reverse and nuetral and park. man if i changed the oil most likely id have a truck to drive. idiot!!! only recently changing the fluid after driving it with contaminated fluid. man did it look bad!. ok i removed the pan. will it leak if i used the same gasket. also there is a little metal circle screen.looks mounted with bolts, it that the filter? if so how do i clean it. do i remove the bolts holding it? the manual doesnt tell me much....if i have to get a new tranny, im never gonna forget this mistake. im hoping when i reattach the pan and put new fluid it will go into drive again, i dont think it will.
THANKS

re: QUESTION from weenie of the year!!!
i had a feeling a new gasket, but can u tell me what that little circle metal screen is,. looks like its mounted by something. i dont mean to post my faults, and im not afraid to admit them in a room full of men. but i do feel the blame big time. . guilt i guess, so no responces to make your balls bigger. just need a little info most auto manuals dont include.
THANKS

re: QUESTION from weenie of the year!!!
The metal screen IS your filter. Buy the filter and gasket and fluid. Drain ALL of it including the torque converter. there are 4 bolts that unbolt the cover to it and then rotate the engine until you see a plug in the Torque converter. Drain it and blow out your tranny lines that go to the radiator with air. If you don't have compressed air, then blow in the lines until clear. fill 9 quarts of tranny fluid then start it. go through all the gears slowly and back again. Warm it up and check the level and top off.

re: QUESTION from weenie of the year!!!
have you checked your coolant to make sure you don't have any trans fluid in it? if your trans fluid looks creamy your cooler could be busted> hope not but you need to check it just to be sure.
