i need some help here guys. i have a 72 f100 with a 302 in it. i recently had the clutch replaced and the flywheel resurfaced. about a week ago i started hearing a winding noise come from the engine bay. the noise only happens in 2nd gear and the noise speeds up as the rpm's go up. its not a whining noise its more of a winding. help me.

Throw out bearing. I can't remember :hmm: if you can loosen or tighten the clutch adjustment to get it to stop.

maybe it's not shifting all the way into 2nd? Check out the linkage or have the folks who worked on it check it out.

Mine did the same thing when I replace the tranny and clutch.
