Post by fourtss »

it's the 3 speed w/OD, it has the push button on the dash, when you put it in drive, the whole truck shimmy's goin down the road, come to a stop put the tranny shifter in low or second gear truck runs fine, shift into drive back to serious vibration, I put in a new torque converter no difference, anyone got any ideas?

Sounds like converter clutch shudder, I've had good luck with ATP brand synthetic additive. Try putting a bottle in it will usually stop right away if its going to work at all.

Good luck

okay so I've try to contact the becontrol, no reply, use the stuff for the oil, no good, was wonderin, what a 4 speed tranny or maybe a five speed from same era would cost me, it has the 4.9 six (300) in it. Any ideas as to what a good used one would cost me? also, this truck is 4x4, will my transfer case mount on this tranny, or would I need a different one? :?
