Flywheel/torque converter specs?

Post by Darrman »

Ok, I picked up a fresh rebuilt c6 today and a new torque converter, I decided not to risk the old one giving out on me.
My question/s now is, what is the torque specs for the flywheel to motor bolts, the converter to flywheel nuts, and the trans to engine bolts. My book has everything but the torque numbers.
Also, how much fluid should I dump in the converter, the shop said 1 quart.
Thanks for any help!

I don't know which engine you have but my books give the spec of 75-85 ft lb for flywheel bolts.Spec is the same for 240/300, small block. FE and 429/460.

I've never seen a torque spec for the converter studs or bell bolts.I'd go with SAE specs that are based on fastener size and thread. For the coverter studs which are 3/8 NF thread the spec would be 40-45 ft lb.The bell bolts are 7/16 NC thread and that would be 50-55 ft lb. :)

The nuts on the convertor studs should be full metal lock nuts (not the nylon cored lock nuts).
