trans help please c6

Post by F2FIDDY »

I put the c6 into drive and it was really like a neutral, about 15 seconds later it started to roll a bit and then slammed into gear and drove off fine?
It seemed like trans was building up pressure before engaging. Perhaps I sprung a leak today and lost some fluid. This particular trans had a recent rebuild. Has anyone experienced anything like this before.
Thanks in advance

sounds like you are low on fulid...every time my old cars do this i add 1/2 a quart to a quart and then then work fine. Porbally start by adding 1/2 a quart and see if it gets any better. then if it works ok check your fulid level after the engine warms up and it is idling in park..If it is low add some more and keep a eye out for leaks ..though if it was rebuilt recently you shouldnt have any

it does sound as if its low on fluid. maybe there is a internal leak inside the valve body or one of the drums that could cause that.

Don't mix the Drexon with the type F. Find out what you have then ad the same or you could loose 2nd gear.

ack i forgot to mention not to mix those types...i learned that the hard way in my old s10 i did that and about 30 miles or so from home i heard a boom and a clunk and i couldnt go any faster that 15 miles a hour with out major rpms in that little 4 banger...needless to say that was a long drive home...this was back in freshman year of high school before i even knew how to change my oil

Hi there!
I have to add some oil in my C6. How can I find out, which type of oil I have? Do they have different colours?

ok... so how can i find out what I have?
what happens to the oil if I mix the different types? I think about draining a little bit of my old oil into a glass and mix it with new oil to see any effect if they are different types. and if there is no effect, I guess the new oil is the same as the old one.
any other ideas?
Chris
