Hey Guys,
On a C6 are there one or two linkage bars attached to the steering column?
Does anyone have pics of the bar(s) themselves.
One of our guys needs the linkage bar(s) and I know I have it (them) in my storage unit.
Since, I'm not the one who disconnected the tranny and stuff when we pulled the engine, I just don't know what to look for.
Thanks guys,
KaptnKA S

re: C6 shift linkage question...
I think it's just one linkage and a kickdown rod. I have never seen a c6 with a place to connect more than on shift linkage.

Hey thanks RTG_RACING...
What's it look like ???
I know the steering column has two shift levers coming out of it, which is why I was thinking that there might be two rods.
I don't usually do automatics... so I am not sure even what I'm looking for...
I bought the '71 CS to part out and have never really messed with auto's.
I do know, that if it came off the '71 CS, I have one and am never gonna use it....

Re: re: C6 shift linkage question...
Sounds like a manual collum to me. Does it have PRND21 indicator on top of the collum? I have seen that in trucks that were 3 on the tree. The rod looks like a shift rod for a 3 on the tree. You can adjust it on one end and the other has a sharp 90 degree bend and a c or e clip that holds it in. I will snap a picture of mine tonight when I get home.kaptnkaos wrote:Hey thanks RTG_RACING...

2 rods point to a 3 on the tree. I have a 77 parts truck with a c6 and it has only one rod. My 72 with a c4 only has one as well. Never seen a 2 rod auto, but I could be wrong.

My truck is missing a lot of things on it, but there is onlu 1 shift linkage on the column for the c6 that s in it. The rod coming up from the tranny just snaps into it.

It does sound like a 3 on the tree column, but here are the requested pictures:
(Rod not attached as I no longer have an automatic. )
