ok I may have asked this in my other thread but didnt see a answer since i was originally asking a different question.
Any way the 80-86 ford truck im looking at has a 4 speed and from what i found on the vin possibllly a 300 inline 6 ...If ive done my research right the bellhousing and transmission should bolt right up to my 80's 302.
Is there anything else i need to know??? The clutch assemblaies isnt really a problem.
But the guy i bought the 2 bumps from has this turck just setting out there and was saying he was wanting a bed trailer and if we can get this one from him for just making him a trailer of the back half its worth the transmission and bellhousing and clutch parts. This way i can keep the stuck 360's bellhousing and np435 to put in my 67 to get ride of that odd ball leaking automatic
Am i heading in a simi-good direction? Im not gonna use the 302 and 4speed out of 80's truck for hauling jsut kinda putting around town, I got the 67 f250 for hauling
Does this sound like it'll work? And if what dad said was correct ( reverse being towards the drive and up. at least that is what the knob said, and he said it was spring loaded that direction) what transmission is it possibly??
sorry for the rambling long post just have to get my thoughts out or ill go crazy with out some one else to talk to about car stuff

re: small block bellhousing question
If that 80 - 86 has an inline 6 it's a 300.The only other thing it could be is a 240 that someone swapped in place of the original 300.Either way the bell housing is the same as a 302.I'm not 100 % sure but I think you'll need a flywheel from a 302.The 302 with a 4 speed will be fine for putting around town.
I'm with you on the oddball automatic.I have the stuff to put a 4 speed in my 67 too.
