Finally my torque wrench came in and I got the pinion set today. It was real easy, just hit it with the electric impact till the slack was out and then just bumped it till I hit 8-9 inch pounds.
I put the whole thing back together and everything looks and sounds good.
One last question, what is the torque for the pinion to diff case bolts? I found the torque spec for the diff cas to main housing nuts, but not the other.
Thanks!
I will post a pic of the finished product after I paint the pinion and reinstall the brakes.

re: Rebuilding the rear end
Sorry it took so long to reply. My source (a Ford Senior Master Technician) says it's 30-45 ft.-lbs. for pinion retainer to gear housing bolts.
