Should it match the block or the trans?
My trans has a cast grey color (BW-T85) but the motor is the ford blue. How was this painted from the factory?

I don't think the transmissions/bellhousings were painted at all. I know the transmissions were bare iron, the apparently original virgin trucks I've pulled down have shown no signs of paint on the bellhousings, just oil and dirt.

i my self (having NO color cordination at ALL)think it would cool satin or flat black but htats just me
I don't really care about brands Chevy Ford Dodge ...as long as it doesn't sound like two old dudes farting in a coffee can.
