Newbie from Alabama

Post by ericknight »

Hey, I just bought a 1970 F100 Ranger with a 360/3-speed. My great uncle bought it new and I bought it from him on March 28, 2008. Here are a few pics.

It's almost all original and was garage kept except for the last few years. I've only found 2 dents in the entire truck. I have two more F100s besides this one, a 1973 and a 1976.

Thanks. I hope I can get it repainted someday. I wish it had a factory chrome bumper on the back instead of the painted one. My uncle spray painted the top part of it because the paint was getting thin and the primer was showing through. He also had the seat recovered about 5 years ago.

eric,

:wel: from Florida.

She'll look pretty good with some fresh paint.
I like the side mouldings, (they are getting harder and harder to find).

there no such thing as a factory rear bumper i believe, they were installed at the dealer by customers request, same with mirrors i believe.
so that could be the original bumper. the chromer one is called a sport bumper, i found one on an abandoned 67 in front of a shop, near my house, im going to put a note on it and see what happense.

The bumper in the pics. is the one that was on the truck when my uncle bought it new, I guess it was dealer installed. You may not be able to tell in the pic, but it's never had a trailer ball on it. I am probably going to put a receiver hitch on it, as I have an 18' car trailer that I pull sometimes. This 360 should pull it a lot easier than my 302 equipped '76. The mirrors are original and have Fomoco stamped on them.
