whats involved in a transmission service,
im driving around with old oil, still looks red but some black. plus when i accelrate into 1st gear , its a automatic, i get kind of a little bump, does it need to be adjusted? and it is changing the oil really hard/??

changing the fluid isnt that hard. you want to drain the torque converter and then aslo remove the pan and drain it at the same time. there is also a filter inside the pan that needs to be changed at the same time.
the little bump you feel when it shifts could be from low fluid levels or wear to the transmission.

is there any adjustments they make?? they got a 69.99 special at a tranny store

And...
If it's a C-4, a lot of our members here are too young to know this.
There was a recall on the C-4's back in the 70's.
They were "falling" into reverse.
I had gotten one of the notices because my Maverick had the C-4.
The linkage adjustment should also be checked.

SOLD-71 F-350 dually flatbed, 302 / .030 over V-8 with a "baby"C-6, B & M truckshifter, Dana70/4.11 ratio, intermittent wipers, tilt steering, full LED lighting on the flat bed, and no stereo yet (this way I can hear the rattles to diagnose)! SOLD!
