Crossmember Orientation

Post by cjhall »

After I finished rebuilding my C4 transmission I had difficulty replacing the forward crossmember. I got the four lower bolts in but I could not get the top four bolts to line up. I then took a closer look and the crossmember has a slope on the bottom flat part that goes parallel to the ground.

Does that slope face forward towards the engine, or does it goto the rear facing the transmission? I cannot yet post pictures or I would do so.

Thanks for the help.
