I've seen so many of our truck "dawg-legging" down the road before it's not funny!
When they used a "tracking bar" to re-center the front axle on the Bronco's!
That tech bulletin sounds like some corporate "band-aid" to prevent a major recall or class-action lawsuit to me.

SOLD-71 F-350 dually flatbed, 302 / .030 over V-8 with a "baby"C-6, B & M truckshifter, Dana70/4.11 ratio, intermittent wipers, tilt steering, full LED lighting on the flat bed, and no stereo yet (this way I can hear the rattles to diagnose)! SOLD!
Many Ford bumps / one 76' EB / and several dents through the years.
A lot of "oddball" Ford parts collected from working on them for 34 years now!

I dunno, I've been driving the truck I've got off & on for nearly 30 years, and never noticed any problems with handling that wasn't fixed with new consumable parts (shocks, bushings, kingpins, etc).
They had wider axles back then, if it were really a problem, they would have utilized them.
I still think it's an optical illusion playing tricks on the mind; i.e. the tires don't "look" right, and the truck "looks" like it's driving sideways because of it.
