shorter throw with hurst indy?

PO installed a floor shift hurst indy seems like it has a very long throw any way to shorten this, or is it normal? i can get measurements of the distance if need be. maybe they installed something wrong just doesnt seem real positive, and it will pop out of reverse unless you hold it in

ok i see hurst sells a mastershift 3 speed says it is 30% shorter throw (assuming over stock) but for the shifter and install kit it is over $300

You might look and see if there is another set of holes closer to the center of the shift arm.

my experience with the popping out of gear is the tranny synchronizer is going or gone--had a chev 3 speed(1954) that would pop out of 3rd and a dana 4 speed in an ihc scout(1979) that would pop 4th and reverse--i don't think the shifter is the problem--but then again anything is possible

get undernieth it. there are several different holes in the tabs that bolt to the shift arms and they can be flipped, turned, etc to get good throws.

anyone know how to remove the shift knob on these it will only turn so far and not move anymore
