So I have been rebuilding my C4 transmission this week and today I went to put the rear extension rear seal in and it looked nothing like the one in my rebuild kit, or the one I took out.
It turns out that I have a rear extension housing from a van. I also have a bolt in yolk. My drive line a "slip" portion in it. This being my first F100, I didn't think anything of it when taking the transmission out.
Is this set up common on trucks? Is there any advantage/disadvantage to having this set up in my truck? I'll eventually build her into a hot rod truck with a built up engine. Will I want to change it then?

re: Transmission Surprise
The bolt on yoke is common to these trucks no matter what trans they came with.My 72 C4 also has a bolt on yoke.
