removal of shift knob
What's the best way to remove shift knob from three on tree without damaging anything. I can't get it to budge.

re: removal of shift knob
Mine is busted off and the metal potion of the handle is not round where the knob used to be. The end is sort of round with two tabs coming off the sides so twisting it off will not work. I believe from the remnants that are left it may have been glued on originally.

I will try and get a clear picture of the end of the shifter and post it later today.

Reason im wanting to change it is one attached is pitted and chrome gone. I have a nice stock chrome one on another shifter, but have to figure how to get them off without damage.
Thought about making a puller by bolting two pieces of wood together at base of knob and hammering up lightly to break it loose.
