got tranny and engine pulled but found a problem

heres the possible problem after i seperated the engine and the tranny i started taking the the pressure plate, the clutch and the fly wheel and noticed that the fly wheel has a lot of tiny cracks in it is this some thing that i need to replace.

Depends. You can have the flywheel surfaced and replace the clutch, but if the cracks are real bad you should just toss it.

domt toss it use it as a core for a new one.

Hey 69rangerf100

most flywheels will have some crazing.
(the little cracks that kinda go alover the place)
It's cause by friction, heat and cooling
A machine shop should be able to tell you if it can be resurfaced or not.
That usually means that the clutch has gotten hot at some point.
I just replaced the clutch in my '68 CS and it had some crazing too.
After being resurfaced it was all gone and looked like a brand new wheel.

If you replace it, make sure you get one with the same size clutch! I made that mistake once. After a couple of years with the smaller clutch, I found another flywheel and replaced it. You don't want to pull the thing apart twice.
