re: 85-302 & 67-C6 trans
worlds,
The C-6 transmission with the small block housing is hard to find. I've got one for a future project. Most of the C-6's were for the big block Ford engines, (351M/400M/460M/etc.). And I do know the 85' 302 would not have the 'hole" for the "Z" bar for a clutch as those years would use a "wet" clutch.
Here's the really good tutorial Keith has provided for us that tells a lot more:

It will bolt up long as it is a small block bellhousing c6,240,300, 302, 351w, be sure to use a 50oz balance flexplate. The 302 changed from 28oz to 50oz in the early 80's. If you have a 67 c6 it's probalbly from an fe engine.
Ford use c6 trans behind the 302 starting in 78, maybe 77 but for not for sure on the year. Hope my helps.

The small block pattern is not hard to find around here. BUT, if you are not planning on towing much or often I would recommend the c4 or c5.
I swapped from a c6 to a c4 once when I still had a small block in my 71 and was totally surprised by the extra amount of power I got just from the swap.
The C6 uses alot of power to operate.

AFAIK the '67 didn't use the C6, it used the FMX.
