Need a brake differential valve

Post by dsc »

1968 F250 with drums front and rear. The differential valve is missing (truck has been sitting for a long time). I have been searching or a replacement, but to no avail.

Can anyone tell me where I can get a differential valve for this truck?

I edited my original response because I answered before I had my second cup of coffee and wasnt thinking clear.

You are right, I have never seen differential blocks in any of the parts catalogs, it may be a wrecking yard part.

It wouldn't surprise me if Fordman has a couple though.

I have one also from a '70 F250. Little bitty guy that fits in the frame well behind the PS pump - if anybody needs it - along with the front drum hardware.

are you talking aboyt the combination valve or distribution block? Because the differential valve is a valve that is inside the above mentioned device.

dsc,

Lotta' resources here for sure!
fits in the frame well behind the PS pump
They just had to put them is almost the worst possible place to access!

Saw a dent a few months ago with it mounted on top of the steering box via a bracket.

If it was a 2WD it would have been mounted to the rear of the engine crossmember on the left side. :)

'73-'77 2WD proportioning valves were mounted on top of the steering box. '78-'79 2WDs had them mounted on the left/rear of the front crossmember.
