more steering column questions?

Post by kaptnkaos »

Hey Guys,

Has anyone replaced the upper bearing in their column?
What is the proceedure for this?

Then I have an asthetic question...

What color should I paint my steering column?
Should I paint it Harbor blue? the same as the rest of the interior metal
Or should I paint it black?
The '68 column was the same as the rest of the interior metal...
The '71 had a black column with Prairie Yellow interior metal...

I could go either way, but am leaning more toward the Harbor blue...

Thanks Guys,

the upper bearing is easy once you get the wheel off. just pull it out and put the new one in. you might have to loosen the turn signal switch also. i forget.

i would paint the column the same color as the rest of the interior. it would blend in better and look good too. painting them black or white was fords way of saving money on body color paint.
