What are you doing now? Going with the six or 4 cylinder?

The six makes too much torque to run the small block bellhousing and 12" clutch reliably, but you can.

If you're happy with gen1 12 valve 160 HP and 400 lb/ft It would probably hold up OK. If you turn screws or get an engines that's already been turned up (90% have been) you're going to blow right through that little clutch.

For the six, you should run the bigger Ford transmissions either the diesel ZF5 or the 460 version. You can get a nice adapter plate from destroked. Autoworld sells them for about $740 plus $15 shipping. For these you run the 94-01 dodge 5 speed flywheel and clutch and a Ford diesel starter.

If you're going 4BT, then that tranny is perfect. That's a pretty good deal though.

I am going with the 6bt so I guess that one wont work. Sounded like a good deal though.
You changed my mind to the 6bt.

Not to hijack, well I guess, but I had a guy offer me all the stuff from his 96 when he converted to 6 speed and I think that includes the flywheel and clutch and starter. Will that stuff work on a 4bt with a small block zf/adapter?

96 dodge would be an NV4500 5 speed. All that stuff will bolt to a 4BT. You'll need starter, block plate, flywheel, clutch, hydraulic slave and the bellhousing.
