25.5 pints, (or just under 7 quarts).
Much easier and better on the tranny if you add a quart directly into the torque convertor if it's a new installation.
If you're changing the fluid, did you drain the torque convertor? (There's a small drain plug on most I've seen to do this).

ya i am just replacing my fluid, but how do you drain and fill a torque converter?
i probably drain the converter also, they are both over due for a fluid changing

Gotta pull the bottom inspection cover, (two or three bolts hold it to the bellhousing).
Spin the engine over, (another application where a remote starter button is a blessing) till you see the drain plug in the torque convertor. It will be on the flat side that faces the engine.
It makes a mess to drain them, (if the trucks front end is slanted downhill it's less mess).
