I'm seriously considering purchasing/installing an overdrive distributed by Advanced Adapters called Ranger Torque Splitter ($1450 approx). I'd like to know if those units have a good reputation or not? I searched this website and forums etc. and did not find any info or discussions. It mounts between the bellhousing and the 4 spd trans. See the product at www.advanceadapters.com
Thanks for any advice or opinions.

re: Ranger OD (Torque splitter)?
Welcome to the forums...you should pop into the Welcome Mat area and properly introduce yourself and tell us about your truck.
Incidentally, Ford never made a SWB F250. (I found this out after insisting a few months ago that I'd found one, only to find out my eyes were playing tricks on me....and I STILL haven't lived that one down!) Or did you mount the F250 suspension to an F100 frame?
I can't help you with your specific question, but I can say that Advanced Adaptors does have a very good reputation, and I wouldn't be at all concerned with ordering from the company....but I realize that's not what you were asking. I was never even aware that they had this available...it actually sounds pretty cool. I'd also be interested in anyone's first-hand accounts of it's installation and use.

Sounds interesting I never heard of this either. As Keith mentioned, Advanced Adaptors does have a good rep. Call and ask for better detail and let us know.

re: Ranger OD (Torque splitter)?
Thanks guys for the replys above, I will visit the welcome area soon and introduce myself more formally. THIS IS REALLY GREAT FORD TRUCK WEBSITE!!!! I just found it yesterday and I'm glad I did because I could really use some help on a variety of restoration issues.
To followup on the "shortbed F250" issue... my truck started out as a 67 SB F100 and I've changed out the suspension with mid-70s F250/350 axles etc. I also put a 72 grill on the front and a 72 bed and tailgate.
I've owned this truck since I was in High school (1971), paid $600 for it used and it's been incredibly reliable.
I'm anxious to contribute some stuff to the forums and looking forward to getting to know the folks on this site and forum better.

re: Ranger OD (Torque splitter)?
Sopunds like you've already put quite a bit of effort into your truck.
Please be aware, however, that the frames on a factory F250 are made of thicker steel that those on an F100. About .030 thicker. So don't overload your frame.

If you need more gears, you might be better off swapping in a New Venture or ZF 5 or 6 speed

WOW!!!
Again, what a great website and forum for Ford Truck lovers!!!
To Mr. Flyboy: Please understand that I have owned and driven this (F100/F250) truck for over almost 40 years and 500,000+ miles and I have hauled tons and tons and tons and tons of stuff and have not abused the frame or been disappointed in it's performance. Although last weekend the Home Depot forklift jockey didn't think my rig would carry a 3000# pallet of blocks. After arguing with him and his manager and signing a legal waiver, he finally loaded the pallet. What a bunch of corporate crap!
To Mr. Rockcrusher: I'm thinking 8 gears is better than 5 or 6 and the cost of the New Venture is lots more.
I'm going to give it a try.
