kevs250,

If it's the stock transmission, there is no drain plug!
You have to carefully drop one end of the drain pan to get the fluid out.
Recommend getting one of these before you put it back on:

You definitely at least will need a new gasket.
How'd the transmission get water in it?
4-wheelin?

out here in california we had a tropical storm and made all the streets flooded
and i thought it would be fun to drive through a puddle, but it was deeper than i thought. haha bad idea. ever since that i hear this clanking/grinding noise in my tranny when i shift into second.

wow i never knew there wasnt a drain plug for a stock auto tranny.
that kinda makes it harder. haha

While you're changing it, go to pep boys, autozone etc. and get a 2 dollar drain plug. Drill a hole in the pan (make sure it'll be where the installed plug assembly won't touch or interfere with anything) install and replace pan. Makes fluid changes MUCH easier, AND it allows you to get the fluid out of the pan before taking it off for a filter change or servicing.

Good luck!
