re: Aux. tank installed today
Thought I'd better update this thread with some pertinent information. From talking with Hawkrod at his 1973-1979 Ford Truck Enterprise messageboard, it seems that I was misinformed about this plastic tank being an option on the highboys. He says the highboys were never equipped with an aft-axle auxiliary tank, only a side-mounted tank (if an auxiliary tank was ordered). The plastic version pictured above was only used in the Super Camper Specials, but the cool thing is that it was standard issue in ALL of them, so if you can find SCS in a salvage yard, you'll have almost everything you need. It'll obviously require a little fabrication to get it to fit, but that's always the easy part...comparatively speaking, of course.
