T-85 overdrive

Post by kyle ray »

can you put a floor shift on this trans T-85? If so who makes one? I think the floor shift that hurst makes is only for top loaders. :hmm: :hmm:

Sure...AFAIK any floor-mount shift kit for a 3-spd will work. The overdrive is controlled by the cable mounted under the dash, so the shifter linkage itself is identical to a non-O/D 3-spd transmission.

Just a word of advice. Spend the extra money and go with a better Hurst shifter and the correct linkage kit. I have the $119 Hurst Universal Floor shift for trucks and it works about as smoothly as wiping your nose with a
pinecone. Spend the extra $$$. :2cents:
