Gear Ratios
I know I'm not the brightest light on the christmas tree, but aren't the front and back ratios supposed to match in a 4X4? My Dana has 3.54 gears and my 9inch in the back has 3.50 gears. Is this correct? The only thing i can figure is the front is a little lower gear because of the pinion size diffrence. I just don't want to lock it in for the first time and bust the ring and pinions.

re: Gear Ratios
Don't worry.... those are about right...
Other ratios are 4.10 front & 4.11 rear, etc...
The difference is just so the front pulls and rather than the rear pushing... Just make sure you keep it on a surface that will allow the tires to slip a bit.
hth,
eric

Re: Gear Ratios
As long as the gear ratios are with in 1% of each other (front and rear). You will be fine! Here is a link with good info for ya!coryb wrote:I know I'm not the brightest light on the christmas tree, but aren't the front and back ratios supposed to match in a 4X4?
