flywheel bolts?

I recentley took off the 3 speed in my 67 to install a c4 automatic. I took the pilot bearing off and installed the new fly wheel as well. Are the six bolts that run through the flywheel longer in the 3 speed than the automatic bolts? They seem to be a little longer. Anyone had this problem before?

yes the manual bolts are longer than the automatic flexplate bolts.

So if Im not mistaken the bolts I have now are 1" and I should be looking for 3/4"?? :? If so anyone know a good place to find um. I been to a few auto part stores but no luck.

I'm not sure on this, but is it a preferred method to use locktite on flywheel bolts?

The engine is an in line 6 240

I belive the last set I got for a six were the same a a sb. and around hear going to the autowrecker for such a thing is a wast of time, I would not send a guy in the yard for bolts. so you could go to a ford dealer, or APR/ or even trans dapt, or motormite. will have them and you local parts store should be able to order them for you.

and yes most people do use some sort of thread lock

If it is an FE, you don't need to worry about sealing the bolts. If it is a SBF, inline 6's, 6.9, 7.3 Diesels then you need to seal them off or you will have a leak on your hands. I use liquid Teflon to seal them up with, from Permatex.
