T5 swap
I have a 1972 Ford F100 and I am looking at dropping a T5 into the truck. It currently has a 302 bored .030 with a new Competition Cam and lifters, Edlebrock Aluminum Intake and a Holley 600 CFM double pumper carb. It has a 3 speed manual transmission on the floor with a 9 inch Ford 3.70 rear end.
Anything additional I need to make the T5 work?

Ya check out my webpage. It has a lot of info on there.
I would look into putting the rear of a S-10 T-5 on a WC mustang T-5. Then you shifter would be in the right spot. If I ever get a chance to grab a T-5 from an S-10 I am going to look into it.
PM me if you have any Q's.

The M5R2's are pretty straightforward. You should have the right mainshaft nut socket to do it right though. I'll assemble one from scratch in 45 minutes. Teardown, washing and reassembly takes me about 3 hours.

re: T5 swap
Well my hand may be forced now. The transmission is getting harder and harder to get into first gear. Second and third work fine but first gear is almost unusable now. I called AAMCO transmission here in Olathe, Kansas and they quoted $1200-$1700 for a overhaul.
Anyone have suggestions?

hey fastbackin1970. call the aamco up here on n.oak trafficway. ask for bob (he should answer the phone), and tell him your story and tell him chris lightning sent you and see what he'll do. we are very good friends, but i won't put him on the spot either.
just ask and see if he will do anything for you. it can't hurt to ask and he is real easy to talk to and he'll shoot you straight if he can't be of much help.
also, he has a vietmanese guy there that does all the major tranny rebuilds that is one of the best in the business.
