I was looking in one of the local junkyards. Only found one bump. Nothing much I can use. However, I did find a mid seventies model. They guy quoted me the following:
Power steering box
Pump
Brackets to fit my six cyl.
Damper pulley
Proportioning valve
$75.00
Disc brake set up from same truck
The steering linkage
$100.00
I felt pretty good about it. Now I need to save the money.
What do you guys think?
This seems like a good deal...

Do you have to take the parts off the truck or does the junkyard.

They are going to cut the frame with the disc brake set up and send that with me. I will have to remove all that stuff when I get it home, which is good because I can take my time with the dismantle.truckguy wrote:Do you have to take the parts off the truck or does the junkyard.

I was under the impression that they will remove the rest as well. Even so, I hope getting the steering box wouldn't be too hard.

jww,
Yeah that's a good deal for sure.
It took me most of a day to carefully remove this set.

Not easy work or for the timid.

I'd break my own arm yanking my wallet out so fast to pay that mere pittance. If they do send part of the frame rails home with you, torched off, you can hand onto one to make you a nice little anvil to beat on to straight small metal peices. I have a small chunk of a construction ibeam I use for that, comes in handy sometimes. I'd be borrowing money to buy before it gets gone, if it's like around here, they are constantly crushing ANYTHING old at most places. So, it won't be there long most likely.
