Parking brake availability for '67 Highboy

Post by pgkeating »

I've spent the last 2 hours looking on line for a front parking brake cable. No one seems to have a list for a '67 F250 4X4. Would the F-100 cable fit? It looks like, because of the transfer case, the cable doesn't end until near the end of the cab where it meets the bed. Not sure where the F-100 cable ends.
A previous post talked about Summint and Lokar. No luck. Raybestos has nothing. Nothing on ebay. Calling my local NAPA now.

Any ideas out there?

Thx,
pete

Look in Hemmings. There are places that will make you very high quality replacements to your dimensions.

The 67 F250 4x4 have two different front cables. I should be able to get either one for you but will need some info first.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Before ser# B12,001 112 1/8 Long

or
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After B12,001 to D54,001 106 3/16 Long

These would be NEW. PM me if I can help you.

I sent my rear two cables to Inline and they made them for me. The 67 High boy is different then anything I could find at bone yard.

My VIN is a replacement F26YEA74183, so I'm not sure it helps(?). Should I measure it in place or tear it out?
Thanks,
Pete

if thats the replacement vin then you probably need to remove it to measure it correctly.

Thanks Fordman. I got an inspection sticker yesterday w/o the parking brake. But I will remove it and measure it soon.
Thanks for the help,
Pete

Hey Pete,

here the link to the folks that made mine, I think these guys may have made the originals for ford. When I called them they said they had an engineering drawing of the cables.
I removed mine sent them in and got them back in less than 2 weeks. Call them to get the info you need.
