Tailgate

Post by mmccarron »

I would like to know what size the bolts are that bolt the outside trim panel to the tailgate, on any 68 thru 72 ford pickup.
Thanks Mike

I dont think they are bolts at all. If you look at back side of the tailgate, you should see small screwheads. These are hard to get out some times so be prepared to grind a couple off. But they are usually standard flat-tip or phillips head screws.

Hi Mike,

I removed an outer trim panel from mine a little bit ago and the bottom trim piece had the bolts attached with a 7/16 inch nut. The trim panel itself was held in with rivets. Drilled them out.
