T-85 Overdrive Solenoid
My 70 F-100 needs an overdrive solenoid. I have checked all over the place and can't find one anywhere. Does anybody know where to find one of these?

re: T-85 Overdrive Solenoid
If you find a source, let me know. My '58 Edsel has the T-85 tranny and though the solenoid is working fine, I'd like to have a spare.
Have you taken it apart and cleaned things up? The ignition circuit interrupter contacts at the bottom will corrode and make the solenoid seem not to work. Also, if the solenoid shaft seal gets hard the unit will fill with gear oil and the solenoid can't work due to hydraulic lockup. Need to disassemble, drain and clean.

re: T-85 Overdrive Solenoid
Yeah I have had it on and off about 10 times now. It will work on the bench, but as soon as it has any kind of load against it to push, it won't go in, and it gets hot and starts smoking. I even uncrimped the case and had the coil of wire out. It is black, burnt and nasty. I've had it with playing around with it. I want another one. I've found 2 guys here by me that have several of them. But, nobody will part with them. They might need them "someday". I have a lead on a couple more, hopefully will find out by the end of the weekend.
