re: 80-83 f100 rear end width
i was wondering the same thing, but for a different reason, i have an 81 with a locking 9" and my 90 has a 8.8" Trac loc, i was thinking about swapping them... but my 81 has the 5X5.5" bolt pattern

I'm not sure on the frame width, but I believe they're the same as the dentside era trucks. However, why not just redrill the rear axles to the smaller bolt pattern? Seems like a whole lot less work.

I thought about that and when I called around to all the machine shops they have never did it before or didn't want to do it. If you could have the axle redrilled you could use a torino drum right?
