C4/240??

Post by jguajardotx »

I am putting a C4 on my 67 that has a 240 inline 6. I been back and forth to the tranny shop and they cant seem to get me the torque converter I need. They keep telling me the one I have already is the correct one. Anyone put a C4 on a inline 6 before? Maybe someone can give me the right part # for the converter I need?? :?

The c4 convertor isn't engine specific.
The flex plate IS engine specific
The starter is flywheel/flexplate specific.
Are you sure you have a C4 and not a FMX/fordomatic/cruisomatic?

What problem are you having?

jguajardotx,

That will stop it for sure.

If memory serves me right you wanna make sure you hear three distinct "clicks" when you mate the C-4 to the engine.
Did-it/done-it...didn't hear the third click one time. Pump bound up and fried the torque convertor on startup.

Or install the torque convertor onto the engine first/then bolt the tranny to it.
