3 speed shifters.

Post by ZOEGA »

Hi people!

I'll explain with some pictures...
I have a 3spd manual gerabox:

But this two axels, shifters (I don't know what's called), circuled in red, are from another truck (chevy C-10), and they wont work with my setup:

I know that this direction column with those rods above was runnig on a F100...
I've been looking for pics, and measures, but it's hard to find anything specific of the F100...

There are many models of those shiftes, and I dont know witch one is the right one for me...

Anybody have a clue by chance?

Thanks!

None of those transmissions look like the 3 speed that was in my truck. maybe I had the wrong transmission, but I know it was a top loader.

This is that South American truck.

They were... uh... different.

Lot of hold over stuff from the early 60's put onto bumpside's

Here's what the factory shift arms look like on a '72 American truck's 3-speed:

If that first pic is the tranny to be used, it looks like the earlier narrow pattern with a 1 3/8 diameter input shaft that was replaced in 1964 with the wide pattern on the pic that Keith put up. Looks like all the other pics are also the earlier pattern too. If you do need to use that narrow pattern mount, with the large input shaft, please be aware that there were two different lengths of the input shaft depending on if it was used in a car or pickup.

The last pic you put up was not showing on my computer when I posted a few minutes ago, but that looks like the matching levers you need for the column you are displaying. Make sure you have the proper stickout on the input shaft and you should be good to go.

That tranny looks like the one that I had in my 65 mustang with a 200.
