oops, i had one more question. where do you think these wires went? the came off of one of my funky PO switches. i have no clue why they go to the glovebox. there are about 6 wires coming from the switch. the switch supposivly has to do with fuel tanks. Image

pic number 1 you needa new one from another harness. maybe a junkyard or in the parts wanted section.
pic 2 yes it goes there. look for the other end of the blue wire. maybe one of them from pic three. the switch in the glove box could be the hazard ligth switch. but in 71 the hazard light switch was moved to the lower drivers side dash so maybe not. it is a mystery until you follow the wires back to thier source.

but then again, i dont have a glovebox! lol

Is there any switches lights or anything electrical to do with a glovebox. because i dont have a glovebox so maybe the blue wires go to the glovebox. ive tried tracing the blue wires, but WOW is it hard. there is so much black tape stuff wrapped around all the wires. ive actually started ripping it off and labeling wires though. cant wait until i find out what the wires and switches go to!

ok there was no switch in the glovebox im sorry. that square switch is for the military version of a rocket launcher. on the old trucks. no i dont know its somesort of po thing you just have to trace the wires in both directions to see what it goes to.

Actually, since you have a bench seat, when you press the button it flings the passenger door open and tilts the truck HARD to that side, which flings your passenger out the door!

Make sure you hang on TIGHT to that wheel, man! You could be flung out too!

i found it. the light is just on the end of a wire dangling under the glove box area/ac controls area, and has a little rusted clip on the wire as if it is suppose to clamp on to something. i could try tracing it but every wire in my truck leads to being covered with electrical tape with 100 other wires.
