Crazy doors

Post by 1971fordcustom »

The other day I bought some door panels from npd. Well I got them from ups and they are way to small. Well I called them and talk to some guy and he said he will go back to the where house and find out. Well I told him they might be the 250s well I have a f 100. So tonight he called me back and said they are the f 250s that are right for your truck. Well its weird f 100 truck with 250 doors. Will they even fit? Nothing has been changed to this truck. He even got a tape out to see how big they are and there the right ones so he is sending me them tomorrow. any ways what do you all think? I guess it really is a custom then lol

This is what I have http://www.yesterdaystruck.com/trphotos/a2194.jpg
The new ones are going to be all black and with out that little chrome strip.

I do not think there is a difference between the 68-72 f-100 and f-250 doors. I know the 67's are a class all to their own but later years I thought were interchangeable. I could be mistaken I guess as I have never tried swapping them personally.

There is absolutely NO difference in '68-'72 doors used in F100 thru F600 trucks. There were a variety of different doorpanels used, however, depending on the year and trim level.

Some trucks only had steel panels, though some would have chrome perimeter trim. Others would have the steel panels with perimeter trim PLUS a panel insert, like this:

Some of the '71-'72 trucks had no steel panels, just a cardboard and vinyl panel that went all the way out to the edge of the mounting area, like this:
