re: Pattern for F600 dash
It would be easy enough to make your own, just using (and keeping) your old bezel. All you'd have to do is cut away everything in the center of the instrument panel face, leaving only about 1/2" around the perimeter of the face to attach a flat piece of steel/aluminum/etc. to. Just use a piece of posterboard to make a template that you'd use to trim out the steel.

Verrry eenteresting....
So..with aftermarket guages would you even need the stock guage wiring? Seems like fuel would be the only one that would present a problem.
Seriously, I'm curious now 'cause I just can't bring myself to ebay an f600 panel for 100+ and this sounds like it could be made to turn out pretty decent.

No, you wouldn't need to use the factory gauge wiring if you didn't want to...but using the wiring from the panel out would help keep things cleaner-looking IMO.
The temp, oil pressure and fuel gauge wiring could be reused, by simply putting the appropriate connector on the end of the wires. The factory ammeter would probably be replaced with a voltmeter, so you'd have to add wires for that.

Here's a panel that's shown on the Docs Custom website that's basically like I was describing. You use your old bezel and just add this face:

This panel, without gauges, is priced at $140.

NPD has that same item. Must confess I was thinking about going that route until this thread. Thanks.

71, was it you who did a water jet ford script thingy for the dash? Radio delete or some such? I'd pay for your work. As I recall it was quite nice.

re: Pattern for F600 dash
I was thinking about if I could use this bezel from a 1967.

I guess a digital display is still out of the question.

Sure. Just cut the front gauge portion of the face off, leaving yourself about 1/2" or so around the perimeter to attach your gauge panel to. Just cut out the shaded portion of your panel in this pic:dolinick wrote:I was thinking about if I could use this bezel from a 1967.

The black part of the face that remains is flat. You can cut your new instrument panel face to cover the black section and then add the gauges of your choice.

Yes, I kind of like the 67 bezel better than the plastic ones.
Well, is it difficult to wire the replacement clusters out
of late model cars. If I find one that lines up well
with the '67 bezel it could be attached behind.
speedometer, battery, temp, and oil pressure should all work
and a tachometer would be nice too. Oh, and what about
the odometer?
