302/t-5 swap...

Post by gt40racing »

I am swapping a 302 with t-5 transmission into my 67 f100 stepside. Primary use for the truck will be just for fun. Does anyone have any info on the shift linkage setup for this conversion. Truck is currently a 6 cylinder 3 speed setup...

There is no "shift linkage" on that, only the stick, and it will come up very close to the front of the seat. You may have to make a adapter between the lower and upper parts of the lever to allow it to go into 2, 4, & R positions.

I put a T-5 behind my 300, but it will sit in the same spot with your 302

We both accomplished the same thing by going at it in a different way. I made a little flat plate to bolt onto the lower lever about 3 inches long to move the upper lever forward.
