Looking to get a new set of wheels for my 71..Going with a 0 offset for the rears, what offset would I need for the fronts to match up with the rears? The rear wheels that are on now sit perfect tucked under the fender while the fronts pop out dont really like that look.
TIA
2 inch neg offset. Might make it handle like elcrapo. Not sure. I fixed that on mine by swaping a rear out of a 77 f100 that has the same width as the front.

Yeah FOrd made them wider in 67 with the ibeams but didn't match the back axle untill 73. It's like 2 inches per side. I think it looks damn silly myself. Gives the truck a new look swapping out the rear. Its not hard either. Cut off the spring perches and move them in two inches on each side along with the shock mounts. You can fit some crazy wide tires after that.
hey tuff4rd, grant peterson of Classic Trucks magazine is doing a bump side build off in a competition with Custom Classic Trucks mag. you may be familiar with this story? anyway he is using 18's on his truck and the front they are 4'' back spacing and 41/2'' in the rear. i am using this info in reference to my own wheel purchase, mabe it will be of some use to you.

Thanks for the info Do you know if the back spacing will correct this? or will it be the offset? I was also told that a thiner rim width would also help..

yes that is correct, running your width staggard will help hide the narrow track width in the back. i will be using 20''x 10's in the back and 20''x 8's in the front. By the way you have a sick looking f-100 there!! very sharp!!
In the custom trucks bumpside he changed his front end which I believe is narrower than the stock I beams. I just lowered my F-100 with AIMS I - beams and put my 15 x 8's on and the tire will rub on the fender I'm not sure of the offset but the standard 15 x 7 are still out there.
