instrument panel rewire
I have a 70 harness and a 71 panel that I would like to use, my 70's circuts are shot in the one I have taken out, my question is can you wire in a 71 plug into my harness, My goal is to have a lighted dash just to see the speedo. If I can I'll just have to find one and I'll be on mt way to nite time cruzin

re: instrument panel rewire
Are the harness and the panel special (modified) or just what you have? Do you know what is wrong with the circuits?

The plugs are different between the panels. Therefore the configuration or layout of the circuits is different. Might be less of a headache to see if someone has an old '70 panel they want to sell or donate(?), then switch out what you need or want (like the speedo, gauges, etc.).

I agree....I'd think the $15-$20 you'd spend on a junkyard instrument panel for the '71-'72 trucks would be money better spent than trying to rewire your truck. I'll have to look in the shop, but I believe I even have one of those laying around.
