Do you mean replacing the rag joint with a universal joint? You need the rag joint to compensate for the body moving around on the frame. If you don't have some sort of slipjoint or rag joint in the steering you'll feel every tiny vibration in the suspension through the wheel and the bearings in your steering column will be toast in no time.

The last steering universals I bought were around $25 each and the last rag joint kit I bought was like $8.

Well I saw in Jegs they have U joint for the column. Are those just for rack and pinion? They do have one with a vibration reducer. thats what i thought of using.

If the steering needs that flex.. how does the steering shaft with u joints from lmc work?

do you guys know if autozone sells those rags?

thanks

Hey Kyle I think the joints you are asking about are borgeson style are for beefing up, modifying or fabing up a new steering link. You will want to keep your rag joint or something similar, as Dustin stated.
