The support/radiator/tranny cooler are all from a '77 dentside. Originally I was just pulling the body off and putting my '69 bumpside on it.460 crew wrote:What yr radiator support is that 69Bumptruck?
I have been waitting for your pics cuz I have the same cooler and couldn't mount it. Now I'm seeing that your support has an indention for the cooler lines mine is straight all the way with no provision.
I think I'll just spacer out the whole radiator a 1/2in from the support and that will give clearance for the lines.
Tranny cooler location?

re: Tranny cooler location?
OK..gathering stuff for the tranny cooler job and one of those questions that comes from thinking too hard came to me...
Since I'm increasing the volume of the tranny fluid via the cooler, will that impact the accuracy of the dipstick? If I fill it to "Full" will it really have too much fluid and cause problems?
Thanks

No. Your system will have a higher overall capacity, but the added fluid will be in the lines and cooler when the truck's running, not in the pan. Since you're supposed to check the fluid level when the truck's running anyway, the added capacity won't affect the dipstick's reading.
