Dana 44 3.54 Trac Lock F100 Rear Axel Bearing Replacement?

I've got a bearing whining.

It is not covered in my 72 manual (68 F100 2wd Dana 44) so can any one tell ne if its procedurally the same as a 9 Inch.

I've been into GM Corporate 8 inches, Ford 8.8's, nine inches, but never a Dana.

It is a standard F100 type axel (not a floating or semi floating)

Robert I found the following in a 1966 Ford truck shop book. The axle bearing section mentions both rear axle types (integral carrier--or Dana style) and (Removable carrier type--Ford type). I take it the axle bearing mounting must be of a very similar design?

For future reference, if any one else runs into this:

Most stores list two outer seals, you need the smaller one apparently, this is the one nobody has, so go ahead and order it. I should have known this, and ordered it last week. In 30 some odd years you would think I would know by now that the one no one has, is the one you need.

Don't buy that chisel thing for the spacer. After doing two mac chisels in, a air chisel, a 4" grinder, and liberal application of a south GA smoke wrench over about a five hour period, I took it to a machine shop.

We'll see how it turns out tomorrow.

Decided to try a different closer machine shop, big mistake...

Finally it is together, seems to wok fine. If I had realized the bearings were packed with grease vs lubed with gearlube like every other rear end I've ever had apart I wouldn't have left it out in the wether for 8 months with no drums on it.
